Archie the film, by the pen of Jeff Pope and director Paul Andrew Williams The film tells the tale of the turbulent early years of the young Grant (born Archibald Alexander Leach) and the devastating poverty, his father’s affair along the tragic loss of his elder younger brother John, broke his family apart, and threw his mother in an downward spiral of sorrow and depression.
The drama series shifts scenes to 1961 when Archie is at the height of his career. He has beat all record-breaking box office numbers. Despite his impressive career, Archie is deeply unhappy in his personal life until Archie meets and falls in with a woman who is aged 33, Dyan Cannon.
At 14 years old, Archie was a cast member in a musical and was on tour with other actors to his home in the United States. An unintentional meeting with comedy legend George Burns helped him find an audience in the world of acting and an agreement with a film studio as well as an alteration of his name resulted in Cary Grant.
“Archie” is the name of a brand new BritBox script written by BAFTA award-winning Jeff Pope. The show follows an account of the lives of Hollywood’s most renowned actor, Cary Grant, and is starring Jason Isaacs. Isaacs (pictured) is well-known for his role in Star Trek: Discovery, is aided in bringing Grant who is the Bristol England-born actor to the stage.
