The story is described as “Black Bridget Jones’ Diary,” the tale is about an 18-year-old British Jamaican woman as she is trying to balance finding her perfect partner and progressing on the ladder of her professional. In the beginning of the show, Queenie Jenkins (Dionne Brown) is sacked and moved to a shared house. The career she has in her office appears to be in a rut and every moment Queenie attempts to advance she’s pushed back to the bottom. However, she is determined to make things work. With encouragement from her close acquaintance Kyazike (Bellah), Queenie puts herself back in her dating scene.
According to the advertising, “There’s a lot to unpack,” and for a comedy of half an hour Queenie’s first hurdle comes due to throwing numerous characters at the viewer quickly. It’s difficult to feel any affection about her lover, Tom (Jon Pointing) who appears during an argument, only to disappear away from view.

Therefore, Queenie’s prolonged pining over him doesn’t feel as earned as it would be following a more traditional relationship-encapsulating montage. The most attractive Queenie’s friends aren’t given adequate screentime at the very least in the three episodes with more advanced characters I was able to watch. In addition, as she goes through several bad dates and hookups the threads she weaves aren’t woven together enough to keep your interest.
