Ren Faire Storyline & Synopsis

Based on the activities of North America’s most prestigious Renaissance celebration, “Ren Faire” documents the workings of the festival and its eccentric leader, King George. King George is a truly diverse man, who by his personality established his own festival, the Texas Renaissance Festival and developed into an entire kingdom.

The guardians of the festival honor George with utmost respect and the newcomers are awed by the cult of celebrity that he has created. King George is portrayed as a mythological figure and a visionary, who established the biggest Renaissance festival ever. King George gathered around twelve actors and expanded to the point that he was capable of purchasing the land and transform himself into a royal landed.

However, the documentary portrays George in a different light the old man who is fighting to stay healthy. We are able to see George as a complicated person and has built his wealth through playing the King position that has consumed him. He has a royal scroller, Victor, to help him find women he can become a sugar Daddy for. The decision to leave the public eye and focus on his own life causes an entire succession crisis within his kingdom.
