Shahmaran Story

Sahsu will not rest until he can find his grandfather who abandoned his mother many years ago in Adana the city where he worked as a lecturer. While on this trip Sahsu is thrown into the middle of a bizarre and mysterious group called Mar, who is a descendant of Sahmaran. under the supervision of Umur Turagay, and with the screenplay written by Pinar Bulut, this story that combines mystery and passion is created with the help of TIMS&B Productions and produced by Timur Savci and Burak Sagyasar.

Joel Keller of Decider wrote in his Shahmaran review that the show “has aspects of fantastical and mystical, however, it’s also romantic, but in an unusual way. Several times we had the chance to discover what the popularity of telenovelas is based upon, more so after the introduction of Turkish television shows in France. However, for a while, the cake of telenovelas has not been shared on television that is mainstream as is shown yet again by Netflix’s latest offering which is”The Shahmeran” Shahmeran series.

This series is a reference to the mythical animal of Turkish folklore, which is half snake and a half woman however there seems to be an underlying gender switch in the show. This story is about Sahsu (Serenay Sarikaya), who is a traveler across the country to Adana to work as a school teacher and instruct in the city. She also hopes to face her father. The mystery of the Turkish show is built on an ancient legend that tells the story of where the main character gets in.
