The series was inspired by the novel of the same name written by Elizabeth Macneal. The story is set in London during 1850. The Doll Factory tells the story of Iris, Silas, “who dreams of one day finding an item so unique he will be catapulted to fame,” and Louis, “a painter searching for his next muse,” according to the plot description. “When Iris meets Silas, and later Louis, she’s offered the chance to flee and embark on a new adventure. To do this she has to leave her sister, risk her reputation, and plunge into the ocean of uncertainty. However, as Iris’s world expands the story of her darkness begins to unfold.”
As previously mentioned, The Doll Factory will be based on the best-selling 2019 novel with the same title by Elizabeth Macneal. The novel gave our readers chills (and kept us on our toes when we read) We’re eager to see if the new series can recreate the same chilling setting.
Silas is a taxidermist and runs a shop that sells his creations. He dreams of coming across a product that is so unique, that he’ll become a household name. Louis is an artist and a member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. seeking his next muse He discovers it in Iris. The collection of 10 photos released contains each of the four lead characters.
