Schmigadoon! Storyline & Synopsis
The principal parts in Schmigadoon! are for comics Cecily Strong and Keegan Michael Key, who portray a couple who are married. They go on vacation and then end up in a unique town. Everyone in the village believes they live in old music of the 1940s. But, the couple can’t simply leave the town. Only after they have found genuine love can the people allow them to leave.
The show is centered around Melissa and Josh who stumble upon the enchanting town of Schmigadoon in the wilderness on a journey intended to spice up their love affair. The entire town appears as if they’re in the studio musical of the 1940s. At the end of the day, Melissa and Josh find themselves stuck in Schmigadoon and are unable to escape the mysterious town of 167 until they meet the true love of their lives – something they believed they had already discovered.
Everyone and everything in town are in the spirit of a classic musical with characters singing and intricate dance routines at any moment. Melissa and Josh quickly realize their only option out of the city’s gloom is to be with each other again. But as they stroll through the woods and along rivers and through forests, they continue to fight. The bickering continues until Melissa and John encounter the village of Schmigadoon in which music comes from every angle.
