Mech Cadets Storyline & Synopsis
50 years from now after an apocalyptic alien has invaded our planet, teenage Stanford Yu works as a cleaner in the Sky Corps Military Academy. In all his years, he’s only dreamed of only one thing – being a pilot of the Robo Mech, giant robots from space that were able to save us.
Intensely influenced by Ancient South Asia, the series is a celebration of the myths and stories that have captured generations. Earth has been attacked by massive monsters known as Shrag. Space mechs visit Earth to join forces with Sky Corps cadets. They fight the Shrags using the aid of mechs.
The story is set in a place that has been ravaged by the Kaiju crab. In such a hazardous situation, the son of a janitor is chosen to form a bond with a mecha robotic instead of students who have been training for many years! In the story, a group of mech pilots in their teens are required to pilot huge battle robots to defend Earth from an alien attack.
An animated series based upon the Boom! Studio comic book shows Mech Cadet Yu by Greg Pak and Takeshi Miyazawa. The series is developed by Boom! Studios. Japanese Studio Polygon Pictures Inc. and Aaron Lam who serves as the writer and executive producer.
