Behind the Attraction Storyline & Synopsis
The show, produced by Disney Branded Television, takes viewers on a journey through Disney Parks’ most iconic and well-known attractions, with the Imagineers who created their attractions and the Cast Members that operate these attractions. After showcasing the top attractions of season one, which included Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, “it’s a small world” and Space Mountain, season two will showcase the more common Disney Park attraction, such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad , Indiana Jones Adventure, EPCOT The Food, and the Nighttime Spectaculars.
Additionally, there will be a segment dedicated to the famous Disneyland Hotel along with its history. In a subsequent Episode, Disney Imagineers will explain how the castles of the parks were created and constructed. The transportation system comprising monorails, trams, and trains are also discussed.
Through archival footage and previously unreleased images and footage , Behind the Attraction explores the rich past of the Disney Park and the way the various attractions developed and refined over time as new ideas were born and new technologies emerged. In addition to rare conversations of Walt Disney, the show also features intimate interviews of Disney Legends and many Imagineers from the past and today, including Bob Weis, Jeanette Lomboy, Kim Irvine, Scott Trowbridge, Tom Fitzgerald, Scot Drake, Carmen Smith, Joe Rohde and many more.
On the website on the information page Behind the Attraction, Disney+ promises that visitors are able to peek into the magic of Disney parks. This vague description doesn’t really create expectations. As viewers, you don’t have a clear idea of what glasses to wear when you enter the show, but Disney would like viewers to anticipate a lot from the show.
