The show will tell the story that Moses as well as those of the Israelites through Egypt with a mockumentary approach which means that these events are depicted in a playful way, yet still an informative documentary. “The Promised Land” seeks to change the traditional exodus story from the Bible and tell it in a lighthearted manner without shaming religious people.
Hudson has developed a rapport with the countless extras that he’s directed in the course of four years of shooting. Hudson’s experience extends to production of Kendrick Brothers’ movies Overcomer and Lifemark as well as an Angel Studios film, The Shift.

While it’s a good comedy but it doesn’t play up the importance on the Bible. The show has fun with the characters–including Moses, Miriam, Aaron, Joshua, Zipporah, and Jethro–but treats the biblical material as sacred. The intention is making the Bible entertaining and relevant to the generations who grew up watching Michael Scott and Leslie Knope on TV.
