Departure Storyline & Synopsis
Departure is a cult series that explores the mystery of Flight 716 – a passenger aircraft that vanishes over the Atlantic Ocean. In the wake of the accident, recently widowed and brilliant aviation scientist Kendra Malley ( Archie Panjabi ) is tasked with investigating along with her mentor and former boss Howard Lawson ( Christopher Plummer ).
Kendra Malley, the world’s leading expert in transportation disasters and accidents, is returning to the service in the 3rd season of Departure. This season the night ferry crossing becomes a tragedy.
Kendra along with her crew look into the sinking and are charged to shed light on the causes of the tragic incident, which left 500 people in search of lifeboats. Through questioning the captain as well as the survivors.
Departure is a suspense thriller which’s first season focuses upon the missing of a flight in the Atlantic Ocean and the intense investigation that ensued. Kendra Malley is recruited from the United States to find the root of the derailment in the middle of a rural area of Michigan.
With the entire people watching around, Kendra together with the team are on the hunt to find the missing plane and hunt the possible survivors.
They will have to fight a myriad of motives and suspects from terrorism and suicide as well as politically motivated murder and systemic failures, to discover the truth about what transpired with Flight 716 -and stop it from repeating the same thing.
