Madam is an adaptation of the diary of Antonia Murphy who was the American woman, following getting impressed by New Zealand’s legalisation of dirty work, decided to write her own. Rima Te Wiata is a standout in every scene she’s in. Henderson, Robbie Magasiva and Danielle Cormack are brief but impressive as well. Kura Forrester is an absolute delight as the irritable neighbor. Particularly, Ariana Osborne gives a stunning performance as the dirty worker Tui who’s experience and expertise is crucial to making the escort company a success.
The series is in excellent hands with rock-solid Griffiths who is in charge. She is famous for her roles as a character in Six Feet Under and Brothers and Sisters. In the opening minutes of the first episode, Mack discovers her husband’s infidelity, confronts him about his dirty coworker and goes on a night-time trip to the brothel in which she attends an appointment with a client (sneezing throughout due to the cat who lives in the brothel).

A few minutes later, Mack is borrowing money to start her own brothel. She says that she’s been caring for her family and husband and is now looking to do something for herself.
