In the midst of a flurry of unidentified parasites that feed off human hosts try to increase their power and begin to displace society, a small group of humans fight against the growing evil. The plot is based on Hitoshi Iwaaki’s comic “Parasyte” in which parasites are able to take over human brains and manage their bodies. With its original concepts and philosophical pondering it has been sold more than 25 million copies across 20 countries and territories, and has led to a myriad of animation and film adaptations.
The series is a reimagining of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s popular manga Parasite which has sold more than 300,000 units across more than 25 countries and regions. Director Yeon Sang-ho who made successful films like ‘Train to Busan”, will showcase his creative skills in this series. “What if this parasite landed in Korea?” Director Yeon states: “When I was in my 20s, ‘Parasite’ became an absolute must-see for all of us who enjoyed cartoons as well as animation. Being able to develop something fresh based on this fundamental premise is not just an achievement, but also fulfilling an idea I’ve been pursuing since I was a kid.

Parasite The Gray’s amazing cast features Soni Jeon in the role of Suyin and Suyin, who develops an odd symbiotic bond with the parasite Heidi. Koo Kyo-hwan transforms to Kang-woo and embarks on a never-ending hunt of parasites in order to unravel the mystery surrounding their missing sibling. Lee Jung-hyun assumes the shoes of Jun-kyung the uncompromising leader of the Team Gray, a group of parasites that commits himself to eliminating the threat of parasites following an emotional loss. The series will air all over the world on Netflix on 5th May.
