The story of Mary & George we see the way Mary Villiers (Julianne Moore from Lisey’s Story ) is adamant about her charming daughter George (Nicholas Galitzine) to woo the king James (Tony Curran). Through clever and shrewd strategies, they ascend to the top of the British court, but in the intrigue and decadence, their ambitions could tear their marriage apart.
Nicholas Galaztine appeared earlier this year as the British Prince Henry on the romantic comedy Red, White & Royal Blue . He is now seen again as a gay and royal character, but this time, it’s again a story of scandal. Julianne Moore plays George’s mother who is a ruthless and conniving the Countess Mary Villiers. Although she was from an average background, she was born with an unrelenting desire for power. She did everything she could to climb to the top of the royal family by bribery, collaborating and marrying only for the sake of political gain.
