Mr Bates Mr Bates Post Office is a new drama that tells the story that took place in one the most significant mistakes throughout British law history. It also demonstrates how a TV show can help to bring about changes. The show stars BAFTA award-winning Toby Jones (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).
Many innocent sub-postmasters and postmasters have been falsely convicted fraud, theft and false accounting due to a failing IT system. A lot of those who were wronged were prosecuted and some were sentenced to prison for crimes they did not commit and their lives were severely damaged by the scandal.
The filming of this Scottish police drama at its peak due to the recent announcement in Ashley Jenson as the lead following the news that Douglas Henshall decided to leave the show. The guest stars are Ian Hart, Vincent Regan (of One Piece fame), Stuart Campbell (SAS Rogue Heroes) and Nalini Chetty (Six Four).
The trip to Shetland was an additional draw not just because of the job opportunity, but also because of the chance to collaborate along with Ashley Jensen and Alison O’Donnell. Hundred were convicted of criminal offenses and many were sentenced to prison.
