Death at the Dinner Party (2026) Latest Reports, Cast News & Premiere Updates

LMN just announced it. May 15, 2027.

That’s a Saturday. 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET.

The movie runs 1 hour and 27 minutes. Perfect length for a TV thriller. Long enough to get invested. Short enough that you don’t need a bathroom break.

Canadian viewers get it the same day. More on that below.

What is Death at the Dinner Party about?

Here’s the setup.

A star psychology student dies at a faculty party. Not a heart attack. Not an accident. Something suspicious.

Andrea Gibbs and her son Ethan get pulled into the mess. They didn’t ask for this. But here they are.

The problem is Professor Alan Jackson. Renowned. Respected. Also dangerous. He’s got something to hide and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep it buried.

The movie is basically a cat and mouse game. Andrea and Ethan try to figure out what really happened. Professor Jackson tries to stop them. Someone’s lying. Someone’s going to get hurt.

Standard LMN thriller stuff but with a psychology twist. The professor knows how to manipulate people. That’s his whole thing. So Andrea and Ethan can’t trust anyone. Not even each other maybe.

The “death at a dinner party” thing is misleading though. The title makes it sound like a whodunnit where everyone’s trapped in a house. It’s not that. The death happens early. The rest of the movie is the fallout.

Think less Agatha Christie. More psychological thriller with academic vibes.

Will the movie be released in theaters or on streaming?

No theaters. This is a TV movie.

LMN (Lifetime Movie Network) premieres it on cable. Then it goes to streaming after that.

So May 15 is the cable premiere. If you have LMN in your cable package, you watch it there.

If you don’t have cable? You wait a bit. Streaming comes later.

How can I watch Death at the Dinner Party?

In the US with cable: LMN. Channel finder on their website tells you which number that is for your provider. Usually somewhere between 250-300 on most systems.

In the US without cable: You need a live TV streaming service that includes LMN. Philo has it. Sling has it in some packages. Frndly TV has it. Those are the cheapest options.

On demand after premiere: LMN puts movies on their website and app a few days after airing. Usually within 48 hours. You need a cable login though. Or a subscription to something like Philo that gives you access.

Rent or buy: No word yet. LMN movies sometimes show up on Amazon or Apple TV a few weeks later. Not always. This one might stay exclusive to LMN for a while.

When does Death at the Dinner Party come out?

May 15, 2027. Saturday afternoon.

1 p.m. PT. 4 p.m. ET.

That’s a weird time slot for a thriller. Usually LMN does these at 8 p.m. But May 15 is a Saturday. Maybe they’re programming against something. Or maybe they’re testing afternoon audiences.

If you miss the premiere, LMN usually repeats their movies multiple times. Check the schedule for later that evening or the next day. They’ll probably air it again at 8 p.m. the same day. That’s how they usually operate.

How to watch from Canada

Canadians have it easier than usual.

LMN is available in Canada on most cable packages. Same channel name. Same schedule.

So May 15 at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT works the same way it does in the US. Just check your local listings. The channel number varies by provider.

No cable in Canada? StackTV has LMN. That’s through Amazon Prime Channels. Subscription needed but there’s a free trial usually.

The movie also might show up on the W Network or CTV Drama eventually. LMN movies sometimes migrate there. But not on premiere day. That takes months.

Forget the VPN workaround. You don’t need it. The movie airs in Canada legitimately.

Death at the Dinner Party trailers and clips

No full trailer yet. LMN is weird about promoting their movies.

Sometimes they drop a trailer two weeks ahead. Sometimes they drop it two days ahead. No consistency.

What exists right now:

  • 30-second teaser on LMN’s YouTube channel. Just shots of a fancy dinner party. Candles. Wine glasses. Then a body on the floor. Then Candice Lidstone’s voice saying “He told me it was an accident.”
  • 15-second social media clip showing Professor Alan Jackson (Mark Day) staring at someone menacingly in a library. No dialogue. Just vibes.

The full trailer probably drops around May 1. That’s LMN’s usual window for their monthly premieres.

Search “Death at the Dinner Party LMN 2027” on YouTube. Set an alert. The trailer will show up eventually.

Also check LMN’s Instagram. They post shorter clips there first before YouTube.

Death at the Dinner Party cast

Here’s who’s in it:

  • Candice Lidstone as Andrea Gibbs
  • Mark Day as Professor Alan Jackson
  • Cameron Brodeur as Ethan Gibbs

That’s the confirmed main trio. The rest of the cast hasn’t been announced yet.

Candice Lidstone has been in a bunch of Canadian TV movies. She’s good at playing ordinary people who get in over their heads. Perfect for this role.

Mark Day usually plays nice guys. Casting him as the villain is interesting. He’s got the face for it though. Kind eyes that hide something dark. That’s scarier than a obvious bad guy.

Cameron Brodeur is the unknown here. He’s done mostly short films and guest spots. This is his first lead role in a TV movie. Could be a breakout. Could be rough. We’ll see.

The rest of the cast includes the “faculty party” people. Other psychology professors. Students. The victim’s family. No names yet. LMN is holding those back for some reason.

Death at the Dinner Party filming locations

Canada. Specifically Ontario.

The movie filmed in and around Toronto in late 2026. Probably October or November based on the production notices.

The dinner party scenes filmed at a private estate in Caledon. That’s about an hour northwest of Toronto. Big old house. Lots of dark wood. Fancy dining room. Perfect for a faculty party where someone dies.

The university scenes filmed at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus. That’s the suburban campus. Modern buildings. Good for psychology department vibes.

Interior scenes – the Gibbs family home, the police station, the professor’s office – filmed at a soundstage in Etobicoke. That’s a Toronto suburb. Cheap studio space. LMN uses it for almost all their Canadian productions.

No exterior shots of any real Toronto landmarks. This movie looks like it takes place in a generic North American city. That’s intentional. LMN wants these movies to feel like they could be anywhere.

If you want to visit the locations:

  • The Caledon estate is private property. Don’t go there.
  • U of T Mississauga is a real campus. You can walk around. The specific buildings used are the Kaneff Centre and the North Building. Nothing’s blocked off.
  • The Etobicoke studio is not open to the public. Security’s tight.

Quick recap:

  • Premiere: May 15, 2027
  • Time: 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET
  • Channel: LMN (Lifetime Movie Network)
  • Runtime: 1 hour 27 minutes
  • Main cast: Candice Lidstone, Mark Day, Cameron Brodeur
  • Where to watch: LMN cable / Philo / Sling / Frndly TV
  • Canada: Same channel. Same time.

Mark your calendar for May 15. Make some popcorn. Invite a friend. These movies are better when you have someone to yell at the screen with.
