New 🌻 Summer 2026 TV Show Premiere

Live Countdown (EST)

If you grew up watching Cartoon Network in the early 2010s, Regular Show probably means something to you. Two park employees. A talking gumball machine boss. A yeti named Skips. And some of the weirdest, most random adventures ever put on television.

The show ended in 2017. Eight years. Two hundred and something episodes. A solid run.

But then came The Lost Tapes. A reboot. Or a continuation. Or whatever you want to call it. Same characters. Same energy. Same willingness to go completely off the rails.

Season 2 is officially happening.

When Does It Premiere?

May 19, 2027. Mark it down.

Cartoon Network is airing it at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET. Prime time for the target audience. Or for adults who want to relive their childhood. No judgment either way.

How Many Episodes Are We Getting?

Fourteen episodes. That’s what’s being reported, though it’s not 100% confirmed yet. Could change. Probably won’t.

Each episode runs about 27 minutes. Same as the original show. Long enough for a full story, short enough that you can watch a couple back to back.

What’s This Season Going to Be About?

That’s the thing about Regular Show. You never really know.

The original show had episodes about stuff like: a video game that tries to kill them, a time-traveling baby, a sentient tattoo, a hot dog that becomes president. There was no formula. Anything could happen.

The Lost Tapes seems to be following the same approach. The first season brought back all the familiar elements—the park, the jobs, Benson yelling—while introducing some new twists.

Season 2 will probably continue that. More adventures. More ridiculous situations. More moments where Mordecai and Rigby almost get fired but somehow save the day at the last second.

One thing that might be different? The original show had a loose continuity. Characters grew. Relationships changed. The Lost Tapes seems to be acknowledging some of that while also hitting the reset button on certain things. Hard to say where they’ll go from here.

Who’s Coming Back?

The core voice cast is returning:

  • J.G. Quintel as Mordecai. He created the show, by the way. Also voices Hi Five Ghost. Busy guy.
  • William Salyers as Rigby. The hyper one. The one who always has bad ideas that somehow work out.
  • Mark Hamill as Skips. Yes, that Mark Hamill. Luke Skywalker himself. He’s been voicing Skips since the beginning.
  • Sam Marin as Benson and Muscle Man. Two very different characters. Same voice actor.
  • Minty Lewis in various roles. She joined the cast for The Lost Tapes and fit right in.

No news yet on other returning characters. Pops? Probably. His arc was pretty complete by the end of the original series, but they might find a way to bring him back. Thomas? The guy who turned out to be a Russian spy? That would be fun. But don’t get your hopes up.

Is There a Trailer?

Not yet. Too early.

Cartoon Network usually drops trailers a month or two before premiere. So expect something in early 2027. Maybe March or April.

When Can You Watch It?

New episodes air weekly on Cartoon Network. Every Wednesday at the same time.

If you don’t have cable, don’t worry. The episodes will probably show up on streaming services too. HBO Max—or whatever they’re calling it these days—has the original Regular ShowThe Lost Tapes should land there eventually. Might be a slight delay, but it’ll happen.

Where Is It Filmed?

It’s animation. So… a studio? An office building? A bunch of computers?

The actual production happens at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank, California. That’s where the voice actors record. That’s where the animators work. But the “filming location” isn’t really a thing for cartoons.
