The tale of ANTHRACITE is inspired by a fictional news story that took place during 1994 within one Alpine community: The communal murder of The Ecrins sect. Thirty years later, the gruesome murder of a woman is a reminder of the tragic event, sending residents into a swirl of terrible memories. The center of the mystery, Jaro Gatsi an unemployed young man looking for redemption, is wrongly charged with murder. His fate is interspersed with that of Ida who is a geek with a mysterious background.
Together, they are able to navigate the complexities of this investigation and realize that the meeting may not a result of chance. This is the premise that Anthracite is the brand new original French production by Netflix where Noemie Schmidt is Ida who is a young detective in a virtual world faced with real life and search for the missing dad. “I created a forum called iData. And since there are thousands of us, we find it pretty quickly! ” Schmidt the character says in this excerpt that is not published, that summarizes the concept of “Web Sleuthing” in 2 minutes.
Ida will then get to meet Jaro (played by singer Hatik). Together, they’ll start an investigation to find out the details behind the death of a Alpine sect that afflicted the entire region.
