Dave Storyline & Synopsis
Dave is loosely basing his life on that of David Andrew Burd. Dave Burd is a member of an upper-middle-class Jewish family – was taught when he was first employed as a grown-up in an agency for advertising that he was required to be as prepared as he could to avoid being a victim of the 9-to-5 straitjacket. He decided to advertise his talents as a comedian and use the money from his bar mitzvah to create hip-hop alternative videos which would bring him everlasting fame.
The Dave series, created by Kevin Hart, follows the character Dave Burd an impulsive man who is convinced that he will be one of the most famous hip-hop artists ever. Even though Dave has signed his dream contract with a record label but is unable to meet the promise. He is expected to release a fantastic album, and he’s convinced people around him that he’s in it, however for the moment the artist is working on almost everything other than the making.
The show was also developed with the help of Jeff Schaffer, Greg Mottola, and Kevin Hart. It began as an underdog tale about a possibly delusional artist who claims that he’s the greatest rapper on earth. However, as he and his group travel across America, they see for themselves how diverse the landscape of culture in America is. The United States really is–and how fame is often more important than friendship and love.
