According to the official PBS story synopsis is “New year (it’s 1971) new cases, and new challenges are in store for Morse Thursday, Morse along with his staff. As they are still recovering after the events that occurred in the previous year, they’re summoned to examine investigations. that involve dealing with the IRA as well as a string of murders which could be a threat to not only the general public but also the detectives.
In an interview on PBS interview with PBS, Evans said that his new series will air right following the events from the previous finale. He explained: “When we pick Effort in February 1971, he drinks too much, doesn’t come to work, calls often to be sick,” Evans said. “That’s what we’ve seen throughout the year. It’s becoming more severe.
Evans has also suggested that the show was headed towards a long-lasting rift in the relationship between Morse and Thursday who is his mentor. (Thursday’s role is not ever mentioned in his character in the Inspector Morse series, nor in the novels that the show is based.) Endeavor is a British crime drama television show. It’s the precursor of the long-running Inspector Morse series.
