Holding Storyline
Holding tells the story of a policeman living in the tiniest Irish village that fills his time with food that is unhealthy and ineffective police work. But, for only the second time in his life, the policeman must go back to work after an unidentified hero’s body has been discovered. The filming of the series is expected to begin soon in Ireland. The main character is performed by Game of Thrones actor Conleth Hill.
Conleth Hill plays the lead character of the officer from the local Police Department, Sergeant PJ Collins. He is a calm mountain of a man who is a recluse and is awash in comfort food and indifferent police work. A tale of secrets, love, and loss Holding has been described by the author as “a darkly humorous tale that is adroitly observing the life of its characters, each with their own flaws complexes, pasts, and flaws they’d prefer to hide” in addition to “a murder mystery that is laced with dark humor and built around the intricacies that are typical of the small-town Irish life.
Holding is inspired by the novel of the same name written by Graham Norton and brings with it an all-star ensemble. The cast includes Irish legendary Brenda Fricker who played the famous bird actress in the 1992 film Macaulay Culkin. The actress is also well-known for her part in Casualty which first aired in the latter part of the 1980s. The show has since been adapted for TV, bringing the fictional West Cork village of Duneen onto the screen.
