Shaka iLembe Storyline & Synopsis
The story is set in the 1700s. Shaka Ilembe tells the tale of the development of the famous African King, through the possibility of re-telling his story from his early years until his adulthood. Two of the main actors in Shaka are the extremely skilled Lemongang Tsipa and Ntando Zondi. The ensemble of star actors is led by Amazon’s Coming 2 American’s most popular actor, Nomzamo Mbatha, who is Queen Nandi the adored mother of Shaka and Thembinkosi Mthembu playing the King Dingiswayo along with Wiseman Mncube taking on the character as King Zwide. Mbatha will also serve as executive producer for the show.
The ability to bring this story onto the screen with such a talented cast will be a testimony to MultiChoice’s commitment to and investment in the locally-based entertainment sector. Finding an appropriate balance between historical authenticity and drama is essential to the story.
