The Nurse Storyline & Synopsis
The Nurse takes its inspiration from the actual account of Danish nurses Christina Aistrup Hansen, who was sentenced to death for attempted manslaughter in four instances in the year 2016. The show is titled “The Nurse” and is an adaptation of Politiken reporter Kristian Corfixen’s investigations into the case in his book of the same title. In this show, Eddie Redmayne plays the famous nurse, and Jessica Chastain plays the colleague who starts to suspect that he has an unsavory side.
“The Nurse” is a tale about putting your faith in yourself, and your own convictions about right and wrong and speaking out when it’s the best choice,” says executive producer Meta Louise Foldager Sorensen, in this press statement. It’s crucial to use this story as a basis for whistle-blowers in the future. The true truth behind the fictional story is being revealed in the media as well as in books. However, our main focus and narrative are on the woman who did the right thing.
