The 1619 Project Story
The New York Times’ long-running journalism project “The 1619 Project” is now being transformed into a brand new docuseries on Hulu. The streaming platform released the initial trailer for the show on the 4th of January stating: “The greatest story never was told. The Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones, and Onyx Collective comes “The 1619 Project’, an investigative series that focuses on the history of slavery in present-day America.”
Nikole Hannah-Jones will talk about the history of American slavery and The 1619 Project that she has initiated across the US for the New York Times Magazine covering the issue of racial discrimination. The selling of “twenty or so” slaves Africans to Virginia colonists by Dutch privateers on the ship White Lion that departed in Vlissingen to Zeeland.
