The Night Agent Storyline & Synopsis
The Night Agent, based on the Matthew Quirk novel, was developed as an executive production by Shawn Ryan. The series is an edgy, action thriller with a strong character based on the FBI agent who is based within the White House basement and mans an unreliable phone until the night that it does. This sends the phone into a frenzy of speed. He uncovers a deadly conspiracy that leads to an investigation into the Oval Office.
The dreamy Peter (Gabriel Basso) is employed by the FBI. He’s offered a position in a frenzied department. However, his job isn’t exactly exciting: answering the phone late at night to answer emergencies. Peter realizes that things are far more complicated than it appears. The highest levels of the political hierarchy appear to have a hand in this issue as well as there is a mole inside the White House.
When the series of 10 episodes was released at the end of 2020, the creator Shawn Ryan told that ‘The Night Agent’ was the most important book he to read in lockdown (ed. corona) and that he had to begin filming it as soon as possible. The trailer itself doesn’t tell any more than the show is about FBI agents Peter Sutherland who becomes embroiled in a plot that involves Russian agents and the highest level of the US government.
