Jurnal Risa Storyline & Synopsis
The adaptation, which runs for 10 episodes, will tell a story that was set in the 90s when a young Risa embarked on a frightful adventure with her family and friends and was forced to save someone from a demon spirit who was seeking revenge. The initial two episodes will air on the channels Disney+ Hotstar and Disney+ in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand along with the Philippines on the 27th of May. The show tells Risa’s early story, as she becomes engaged in an exciting adventure with her siblings and new friends, known as The Crew. The Crew.
The horror series was inspired by a novel called “Jurnal Risa: School Holiday Terror” which was composed by Risa herself, based on her experiences when she was a young child. “Jurnal Risa” is 80 times more like its novel counterpart. The general idea is that this series is a story about the mysterious childhood experience of Risa Saraswati (Shofia Shireen) together with her siblings and other friends on vacation.
The 90s are the setting, this series will guide viewers to follow how Risa’s Christmas which is supposed to be enjoyable but turns into an unsettling one because of an unexpected incident. This is due to the fact that the characters which Risa and her companions must confront in the show are spirits or ghosts rather than monsters from different universes such as Stranger Things. Furthermore, the spirits featured in this show also bring up myths that are prevalent within Indonesian society to ensure that it is more akin to local.
