Levent is a member of a family who is adamant about Ataturk’s ideas, promotes republican ideals and has an agnostic lifestyle. Meryem is, on the contrary is a member of a religious community. to a religious organization when he was a child. Meryem follows the guidelines of the community and has been arranged to marry one of the men as per the direction of the leader.
Levent and Meryem’s tracks meet in a car crash. Meryem’s lover is killed in the crash and she is put under the protection of Levent. In the course of this, Levent and Meryem become closer and start to develop feelings for one another. However, the affection between two people of different backgrounds is placed to a difficult test.
The show follows the lives of Levent the idealistic doctor and Meryem who grew up in a conservative family. Levent is an 18-year-old person who was separated from his mother in the early years of his life as well as being raised by his dad. Following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a doctor, he is a doctor and is employed in a hospital located in Istanbul. Meryem is a child who lost her mother in her early years while her father raised her. Meryem was raised under the pressure of her father and eloped to Istanbul to pursue the life she wanted to live.
In the show, it is worth noting the fact that Ozgu Namal, who returned to the set after a long absence gave the character Meryem who is part of the sect. Namal’s choice of wearing a hijab for the role of Meryem was a surprise to the viewers.
