| Citadel Season 3 is yet to be announced: Is There going to be a Season 3 of Citadel — ✔️ May 17, 2027 New 🌻 Summer 2026 TV Show Premiere |
Finally, Some Answers Coming
Let’s be honest. Season 2 of Citadel left a lot of us scratching our heads. Memory wipes, double agents, that whole mess with Manticore pulling strings from the shadows. It was a lot to keep track of.
But here’s the good news. Prime Video is bringing the show back for a third season. And we finally have a premiere date to look forward to.
May 17, 2027. Mark it down. Set a reminder. Do whatever you need to do.
When Exactly Does It Drop?
Season 3 premieres on May 17, 2027, at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
Morning release for the West Coast. Afternoon for the East Coast. Either way, you can watch it as soon as you wake up or during your lunch break.
How Many Episodes Are We Getting?
Seven episodes this season. Each one runs about 41 minutes.
That’s slightly shorter than previous seasons. Season 1 had six episodes. Season 2 had six as well, I think. So seven is actually a small bump. Not a huge one, but every extra minute counts with a show this dense.
What’s Season 3 Going to Be About?
Okay, so where did we leave off?
Mason and Nadia had their memories wiped at the end of Season 1. Season 2 was all about them slowly piecing things back together while trying to figure out who they could trust. Meanwhile, Manticore kept expanding its reach. Bernard was doing his best to hold things together, but even he seemed overwhelmed.
Season 3 will probably focus on the actual fight back. The title of the show is Citadel, right? The agency that fell. Season 3 might be about rebuilding it. Or at least about Mason and Nadia deciding whether it’s worth saving.
There’s also the whole thing with Dahlia Archer. Lesley Manville plays her, and she’s been one of the best parts of the show. Cold. Calculating. Impossible to read. She’s not the kind of villain who monologues about her plans. She just… acts. And you’re never quite sure what she’s going to do next.
Expect more spy games. More betrayals. More moments where you’re not sure if a character is being honest or playing a long con. That’s what this show does well.
Who’s Coming Back for Season 3?
The core cast is returning:
- Richard Madden as Mason Kane. He’s the action guy. The one who does the running and the fighting and the dramatic escapes.
- Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Nadia Sinh. She’s the strategic one. Maybe a little colder than Mason. Maybe more willing to make hard choices.
- Stanley Tucci as Bernard Orlick. The mentor figure. The guy who knows more than he’s telling. Tucci is great in this role.
Also coming back:
- Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy
- Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer
- Jack Reynor as James Hutch
- Matt Berry as Frank Sharpe
Berry is an interesting addition to this cast. He’s mostly known for comedy. What We Do in the Shadows, The IT Crowd. But he showed up in Season 2 and somehow fit right into the spy world. Curious to see if Season 3 gives him more to do.
Is There a Trailer Yet?
Not yet. Too early.
Prime Video usually drops trailers about six to eight weeks before release. So probably March or April 2027. Keep an eye on their YouTube channel.
When Can You Watch It?
All seven episodes drop at once on May 17, 2027. That’s a Sunday, by the way.
So you could theoretically binge the whole thing in one day. Clear your schedule. Make some popcorn. Settle in.
Where Can You Watch Previous Seasons?
Seasons 1 and 2 are both available on Prime Video right now.
If you need a refresher, now’s a good time to rewatch. The plot is complicated enough that you might have forgotten some key details. I know I did.
Where Do They Film This Show?
Season 3 filmed in Birmingham, West Midlands, England, UK.
Previous seasons shot all over the place. Different countries, different continents. But for Season 3, they based most of the production in the UK. Birmingham has a lot of industrial and modern architecture that works well for a spy show. Good stand-in for various European cities.
What’s Coming
Citadel has had an interesting run. Huge budget. Big stars. Lots of hype. Season 1 got mixed reviews, but Season 2 seemed to find its footing a bit better.
The show works best when it leans into the action and the spy thriller stuff. The globe-trotting. The high-tech gadgets. The tension of not knowing who to trust.
Where it sometimes struggles is the emotional stuff. The romance between Mason and Nadia feels a little forced at times. But when the show focuses on the mission? On the spy games? That’s when it’s at its best.
Season 3 has a chance to stick the landing. Or at least to set up a satisfying conclusion. We’ll find out on May 17, 2027.
