If you’ve never watched Taskmaster, let me paint you a picture. Five comedians get asked to do ridiculous things. Like “impress a mayor” or “put exactly 47 items in a shopping cart” or “make the most surprising sound using only this egg.” Then they fail spectacularly. Then everyone laughs. Then someone gets points for reasons that don’t always make sense.
That’s the show. That’s the whole show. And somehow, it works.
The Australian version is back for a sixth season. I know. Six seasons already. Time flies when you’re watching people struggle to transport a potato without touching the ground.
When Does It Premiere?
May 18, 2027. That’s a Tuesday.
Network Ten is airing it at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET. Early morning for North American viewers, but that’s time zones for you. If you’re in Australia, it’ll be a much more reasonable evening timeslot.
How Many Episodes Are We Getting?
Ten episodes this season. Each one runs about 47 minutes.
Standard Taskmaster length. Long enough to get through a few tasks, short enough that it doesn’t overstay its welcome.
What’s This Season Going to Be Like?
Same format as always. Tom Gleeson plays the Taskmaster. He’s the judge. The authority figure. The guy who hands out arbitrary points and seems to enjoy watching people suffer.
Tom Cashman is the Assistant. He’s the one who actually sets up the tasks and watches the contestants fail in real time. Usually gets caught in the crossfire when things go wrong.
Then there are five contestants. New faces every season. This time around, the lineup is:
- Celia Pacquola – She’s been on other versions of Taskmaster before. The UK version, I think. So she knows what she’s getting into. That might help. Or it might make her overconfident. We’ll see.
- Rove McManus – Huge name in Australian television. Curious to see how he handles the chaos.
- Joel Creasey – Comedian. Known for being loud and opinionated. Perfect Taskmaster energy.
- Anisa Nandaula – Poet and comedian. Might bring a different kind of creativity to the tasks.
- Brett Blake – Another comedian. Less familiar with his work, but that’s part of the fun. Discovering new funny people.
Are Episodes Weekly or All at Once?
Weekly. This is broadcast TV, not streaming.
New episodes air every Tuesday on Network Ten. If you miss one, their streaming platform should have it afterward. But you can’t binge the whole season in one weekend. You have to wait like a normal person.

How to Watch from Canada?
Same situation as the US. No official Canadian broadcaster has been announced yet. Keep an eye on streaming services like BritBox or YouTube. Sometimes these things show up without much warning.
Is There a Trailer?
Probably not yet. Too early.
Network Ten usually drops trailers a few weeks before premiere. So expect something in April or early May 2027.
Where Do They Film?
Auckland, New Zealand.
Interesting choice. The show is Australian. The network is Australian. The host and contestants are Australian. But they film in New Zealand. Probably a production cost thing. Or maybe the right studio space was cheaper there.
Either way, the house and the grounds look basically the same as every other Taskmaster version. A big lawn. A shed full of random objects. A studio where they watch the clips and argue about points.
