New 🌻 Summer 2026 TV Show Premiere

Live Countdown (EST)

When does “You’re Killing Me” Season 2 come out?

May 27, 2027.

That’s a Thursday. 7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. ET on Acorn TV.

Season 1 dropped in 2026 and became one of Acorn’s surprise hits. People love a good murder mystery with actual funny moments. Brooke Shields and Tom Cavanagh have that rare chemistry that makes you believe they’ve known each other for years.

Six episodes. Forty-two minutes each. Perfect length for a crime drama. Long enough to get invested. Short enough that you don’t feel like you wasted your night.

Season 1 ended with a twist that had people yelling at their screens. Season 2 picks up right after. The killer from Season 1 is apparently not finished. Or maybe someone new is playing the same game.

What is “You’re Killing Me” Season 2 about?

Here’s the setup from Season 1.

A bestselling novelist. An aspiring writer. A dead friend. A very awkward partnership.

The novelist is Allison Chandler (Brooke Shields). She’s written seventeen bestsellers. Rich. Famous. Also deeply unhappy and drinks too much wine alone in her fancy apartment.

The aspiring writer is Andrea Walker (Amalia Williamson). Young. Talented. Also broke and desperate for literally any break.

They don’t like each other. Allison thinks Andrea is naive and hasn’t earned anything. Andrea thinks Allison is a washed-up drunk who got lucky.

But then Allison’s friend ends up dead. Police call it an accident. Heart attack at 43. Sure. Allison knows better. Andrea wants to prove she’s a real writer. So they team up.

Season 2 follows the same formula but darker. A new victim. Someone connected to Allison’s past. A mystery that forces her to confront things she’s been ignoring for decades.

The teaser shows Allison getting a package in the mail. A photograph from her college years. Someone’s face crossed out in red marker. Then her phone rings. “You’re not as smart as you think you are.” Click.

Andrea gets pulled back in even though she was trying to move on. Write her own book. Stay out of trouble. But trouble has her phone number.

Tom Cavanagh plays Jack Kerrigan. He’s the detective who should be solving these cases. But he’s also slightly in love with Allison. Which makes him miss things. Season 2 explores that tension more.

How can I watch “You’re Killing Me” Season 2?

Acorn TV. That’s the only place.

Acorn is a streaming service. Costs about 6or6or7 a month depending on your region. They specialize in British and Canadian crime shows. This one fits right in.

You can sign up directly through Acorn’s website. Or through Amazon Prime as a channel add-on. Same price either way. Amazon route is easier if you already have Prime.

Free trial: Acorn offers a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Plenty of time to watch all six episodes and cancel. Not that I’m suggesting that.

No cable needed. Acorn is streaming only. No traditional TV broadcast for this show.

Season 1 is also on Acorn if you need to catch up. Watch that first. Season 2 won’t make much sense otherwise.

You’re Killing Me Season 2 Teaser

Acorn released a teaser last week. Sixty seconds.

Starts with Allison Chandler standing in front of a mirror. Fixing her lipstick. Her hands are shaking. She’s trying not to show it.

Cut to Andrea Walker walking through a cemetery at night. Holding a flashlight. Looking for something.

Cut to Jack Kerrigan sitting in his car. Watching someone through binoculars. His expression says he doesn’t like what he sees.

Then a woman’s voice off-screen: “You think you know who did it. You’re wrong.”

Then the title card. Black screen. Red letters. “You’re Killing Me.”

No actual dialogue from the new season. Just atmosphere. But it’s effective. The comments on YouTube are already full of people guessing who the voice belongs to.

The full trailer probably drops around May 15. Acorn is slow with marketing. They rely on word of mouth.

What time do episodes air and stream?

May 27 at 7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. ET.

Acorn releases episodes at the same time globally. No waiting. No staggered schedule.

All six episodes drop at once. That’s how Acorn does most of their originals. Binge format.

If you can’t watch at 7 p.m. PT, the episodes stay on Acorn forever. Watch them whenever. No rush. No expiration date.

Acorn does not do weekly releases for this show. Season 1 was all at once. Season 2 is all at once. Don’t expect cliffhangers between episodes. The cliffhanger is saved for the season finale.

When do new episodes come out?

No “new episodes” to wait for. All of Season 2 drops May 27.

But if you’re asking about future seasons? That depends on how Season 2 performs.

Season 1 took about three months to get renewed. Season 2 was confirmed in January 2027. If there’s a Season 3, expect an announcement around August or September 2027.

The show’s creators have said in interviews they have a five-season plan. Whether Acorn pays for all five depends on viewership. So tell your friends to watch.

Who is in the “You’re Killing Me” Season 2 cast?

Here’s everyone coming back:

  • Brooke Shields — Allison Chandler (the novelist)
  • Tom Cavanagh — Jack Kerrigan (the detective)
  • Amalia Williamson — Andrea Walker (the aspiring writer)
  • Laura Kohoot — Connie Newsome
  • Gabriel Burrafato — Norman Baights
  • Kate Drummond — Jessica
  • Martina Kelades — Officiant
  • Laura Jones — Dana Collins
  • Jennifer Vallance — Donna Falconer

Brooke Shields is the reason most people clicked on Season 1. She’s legitimately good in this. Not just a nostalgia hire. Her character drinks too much and says mean things but you still root for her. That’s hard to pull off.

Tom Cavanagh is the TV veteran. He’s been in everything. Ed. The Flash. Scrubs. He brings a worn-out charm to Jack Kerrigan. Like he’s seen too much but still cares anyway.

Amalia Williamson is the breakout. She was unknown before Season 1. Now she’s getting offered other projects. Her character is the emotional core of the show. Andrea wants to be a good person. The others are more complicated.

Laura Kohoot and Gabriel Burrafato play the comic relief. Their characters are neighbors of Allison. They show up at the worst times with casseroles and gossip. Season 2 gives them more screen time.

Kate Drummond returns as Jessica. Her character had a small role in Season 1. She’s promoted to regular in Season 2. The teaser shows her in a tense scene with Allison. Something happened between seasons.

New faces? Acorn hasn’t announced any. The trailer doesn’t show anyone unrecognizable. But the voice on the phone? That’s someone new. Casting hasn’t been revealed yet. Probably intentional.

You’re Killing Me Season 2 filming locations

Toronto, Canada. That’s the short answer.

Season 1 filmed entirely in and around Toronto. Season 2 did the same.

Specific locations:

  • Casa Loma — Used for a fancy party scene in Episode 2. That castle in midtown Toronto. Very recognizable. Very expensive to rent. Acorn spent money on this season.
  • Distillery District — Old brick buildings. Cobblestone streets. Used for exterior shots of Allison’s neighborhood. She lives in a converted warehouse in the show. That’s the Distillery District.
  • Queen Street West — Where Andrea’s apartment is supposed to be. Street level shots. Coffee shops. Record stores. Very Toronto.
  • Ontario Place — Used for a climactic scene in Episode 5. The pods. Very futuristic looking. Works for the show’s slightly-off tone.
  • Soundstage in Etobicoke — All the interior scenes. Allison’s apartment. The police station. The morgue. Same studio where a dozen other Canadian shows film.

New for Season 2: A scene filmed at Hamilton City Hall. Hamilton is about an hour west of Toronto. They used it as a stand-in for a Buffalo courthouse. Only one day of shooting.

No US locations. The show is set in the United States but filmed entirely in Canada. Standard TV stuff. Cheaper that way.

If you want to visit the locations:

  • Casa Loma is a tourist attraction. Open every day. Worth seeing even without the show connection.
  • Distillery District is a shopping area. Very pretty at Christmas.
  • Queen Street West is a normal street. Go shopping. Get coffee.
  • The Etobicoke studio is not open to the public. Security guards. No photos.

Quick recap:

  • Release date: May 27, 2027
  • Time: 7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. ET
  • Where: Acorn TV (streaming only)
  • Episodes: 6 (42 min each)
  • All episodes drop at once. No weekly waiting.
  • Full cast back including Brooke Shields, Tom Cavanagh, Amalia Williamson, Laura Kohoot, Gabriel Burrafato, Kate Drummond, Martina Kelades, Laura Jones, Jennifer Vallance
  • Watch Season 1 first. Also on Acorn.
  • Free trial available. 7 days. Watch both seasons and cancel.

Mark your calendar for May 27. Pour a glass of wine. Brooke Shields would want it that way.
