The Horror of Dolores Roach Storyline & Synopsis
The original story was written by Aaron Mark as a one-man production called Empanada. Mark was the one who wrote, created and directed the first Spofity podcast, which was the basis for the show as well as writing his pilot’s script. The new series is produced by Mark as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Dara Resnik.
A prisoner released after 16 years, who is returned in Washington Heights, which has been heavily gentrified, and money in her pockets as well as the clothes she carries. With her boyfriend gone and her family members long gone, and her home is now filled with strangers, Dolores returns to her former stoner pal Luis who lets the woman in and let her perform massages in exchange to earn money. The cash is hidden is kept in the basement beneath the restaurant that is in disrepair Empanada Loca, the sole trace of his previous life.
In the event that stability is threatened “Magic Hands Dolores” is driven to the edge in order to survive.
