World on Fire Storyline & Synopsis
This drama World on Fire focuses on the lives of people in the early days of World War II. The series is like an oasis of calm among the many shows that are set during this time. The story takes place in Poland, England, and France and the creator Peter Bowker (The A-Word) is able to weave the various plots together well. It can be a bit predictable at times which makes it a bit sometimes a bit sour, but this doesn’t diminish the drama.
Harry Chase (Jonah Hauer-King) is being sent to Poland as a translator for diplomatic purposes in the same way he has shown his affection to Lois Bennett (Julia Brown). Lois is an individual who doesn’t hesitate to speak up about what she wants. She performs in clubs and is looking for something more satisfying; she would like to be outside of Manchester. In Poland however, Harry meets a new love: Kasia Tomaszeski (Zofia Wichlacz).
