Turn of the Tide Storyline & Synopsis
It’s an immense honor to be able to showcase our beloved Azores in the eyes of all people and tell an extraordinary story set in an area that is one of the more beautiful locations on earth. This is a story filled with pure adrenaline and entertainment however, it is at the same time an examination of the plight and fate of human nature. Inspiring by actual evidence, Rabo de Peixe is a suspenseful film with hints of humorous humor, that recounts the amazing story of four friends whose lives were forever changed by the introduction of a tonne of cocaine. The most shocking thing is that this is only the beginning of a huge adventure.
“Rabo de Peixe” will also be the very first fictional film to be signed by Augusto Fraga who has worked mostly in the field of advertising, along and Patricia Sequeira. If you are in a position of confinement and your production of commercials is in “lockdown” then the best option is to create an original script that can be used in a show, said the director of advertising Augusto Fraga.
The story is set in different periods of time, with actors Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal playing the roles of Jake and Silva and Jason Fernandez and Jose Condessa as the characters of the younger generation. Netflix has revealed that “Rabo de Peixe” was one of the winning projects as part of a contest that aimed to help the writing of scripts which was launched in 2020, in collaboration in partnership with Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual. It was the first Portuguese series made by Portugal to be released on Netflix.
